Online Physics Tuition
My name is Nick Osborne.
I am a very highly experienced physics tutor with over twenty-five years of experience teaching in schools in the UK and Spain and one-to-one private tuition.
I now teach exclusively online and provide physics tuition in:
A level and AS level;
GCSE and iGCSE.
If you are investing in private tuition, you want to make sure you get the best tuition available tailored to your needs.
Fees from 1st Sep 2019:
Please note: if you are a current one-to-one student of mine, your fees will remain at their current level for the duration of your course.
One-to-one tuition after 4 pm (UK): £65 / hour
One-to-one tuition before 4 pm (UK): £55 / hour
Webinars: £10 /hour
Types of Tuition:
One-to-one online tutorials
I will ask students to email me some details (such as the exam board, and what topics the student wants to work on) before lessons so that I can prepare specific materials tailored to the student's needs. In this way, we can maximise the benefit of the learning time. I can also set and mark homework activities according to a student's needs.
Live webinars for A level physics - the autumn term series will start in October 2019!
Live webinars are designed to cover the major topics of A level and IB physics - the topics which are key to all exam boards.
How online physics tuition works
Whether you choose one-to-one tutorials, or live webinars makes no difference in terms of what you need and how the lessons work.
Watch this brief video to get an idea of how online physics lessons work.
What you will need:
a broadband internet connection;
a computer or laptop with a webcam and/or microphone;
a reasonably quiet place.
Tutorials make use of an online classroom called Scribblar in which both student and teacher can write on a whiteboard. I will send the student a link to their own personal Scribblar classroom before the first lesson. It's easy to use. It allows for past paper questions to be viewed and worked on together.
Please note: a parent or responsible adult should be at home when the tutorial takes place.
Optional (but not essential):
Some students may enjoy making use of a pen and tablet when working in the online Scribblar classroom. A good quality, inexpensive tablet that works well with Scribblar is a Wacom Pen Graphics Tablet. I use an older version of this one and it works a treat. A great tool for making revision notes too!
